EA Announces Online Co-Op For Madden 10

It’s good to see EA finally getting around to innovating in ways that actually have me seriously looking forward to a new Madden for a change. While we will obviously be hearing all about Madden NFL 10’s new features at E3 next week, EA has gone ahead and revealed that this year’s game will feature online co-op. In addition, it looks as though…wait, what?! That’s awesome! EA press release, tell me more please.

“Team up with a friend online to work on game strategy, practice plays, and see the field from a unique point-of-view, thanks to position-specific camera angles. Change player positions after each play to experience the NFL from a completely different dynamic. Want to find out what it’s like to play as a wide receiver on one play, and the left offensive tackle on another? With Madden NFL 10 Online Co-op, the choice is yours.”

Boldin, who’s in a long contract dispute with the Cardinals, informed the NFL Players Association in a letter that he intended to replace Rosenhaus as his agent. The players association said it received the letter Friday, so with the required five-day waiting period, Boldin can sign with a new agent Thursday.

Rosenhaus issued a statement saying he has “great respect” for Boldin.

“I’m hopeful we can work things out and he will return to the Rosenhaus Sports family in the near future,” Rosenhaus said.

Boldin, who has two years left on his contract with the Cardinals, is upset with the team’s management over what he says was a failed promise for a new deal last offseason. He has asked for a trade. The Cardinals said they would listen to offers, but on draft day, they claimed no team had proposed a deal that could be seriously considered.

If Boston Bruins super-fan Denis Leary ever wants to emulate his favorite players, he need not go far.  After lacing up his skates and taping his stick, it’s a short walk out to his backyard, where he has a hockey rink, complete with piping installed under the ice to keep it frozen, a shed full of skates, sticks and Bruins memorabilia, including Bobby Orr autographs and Cam Neely sweaters.  Leary even has a homemade Zamboni.

Leary, 51, still plays hockey regularly, and often has games and benefits for charities. Continue reading

A throng of media flocked to Halas Hall Wednesday to watch Jay Cutler’s first OTA practice as a member of the Bears, and the Pro Bowl quarterback did not disappoint.

Cutler demonstrated his tremendous arm strength and quick release while participating in 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills against the Bears defense for the first time since his ballyhooed arrival April 2.
